The fund commits to make EU Taxonomy-aligned investments. The EU Taxonomy Regulation sets out the following circumstances under which economic activities can qualify as environmentally sustainable or “Taxonomy-aligned”. In order for the activity to be Taxonomy-aligned it must: (1) Substantially contribute to at least one of the six environmental objectives as defined in the Regulation (climate change mitigation, climate change adaption, the sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources, the transition to a circular economy, pollution prevention and control, and the protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems). (2) Do no significant harm to any of the other five environmental objectives as defined in the Regulation. (3) Be carried out in accordance with “minimum safeguards”.
