Direct emissions due to owned, controlled sources. Whilst use of the GHG Protocol is encouraged, organisations may use national reporting methodologies if they are consistent with the GHG Protocol methodology. Similarly, calculations using the Product and Organisation Environmental Footprint methods as defined in points (a) and (b) of point 2 of Commission Recommendation 2013/179/EU are valid.
